I W Marks Jewelers received the Better Business Bureau Education Foundation’s Pinnacle Award in recognition of its excellence and quality in the workplace at the 16th Annual BBB Awards for Excellence luncheon earlier this month at the Hotel Intercontinental Houston.

“My father, I.W., laid the groundwork for excellence in every aspect of our business,” said Brad Marks, who accepted the award with his brother, Daniel Marks. “We know how proud he would be to see the store continue to be recognized for its commitment to quality.” The brothers serve as vice presidents of I W Marks.

The jewelry retailer, with stores in Houston and Sugar Land, earned the Pinnacle Award in 2007 as well and has been recognized over the years with the BBB Award for Excellence and award of distinction in 1994, 1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2006.

The BBB Awards for Excellence was created to recognize local businesses that excel in quality, service and management. The BBB Awards recognize local businesses in service, construction, non-profit, automotive, health services, retail, ethics, manufacturing and technology categories that have excelled in quality, service and management. The applications are judged by volunteers with the Silver Fox Advisors, a group of former business owners, entrepreneurs and COEs dedicaqted to sharing their knowledge, experience and skills, allowing clients to improve their growth and profitability in a cost-effective manner.

Proceeds from the Awards for Excellence help fund the four programs of the Better Business Bureau Education Foundation and extend its educational initiatives to outlying communities of the Greater Houston area. The foundation’s mission is to educate and advocate on behalf of consumers and businesses in an effort to combat unethical business practices and promote consumer awareness.

IW Marks Jewelers, 3841 Bellaire Boulevard in Houston, and 2623 Town Center Boulevard in Sugar Land, is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.
