Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair to be held in September

More than 810 exhibitors from 19 countries will be in Hong Kong to showcase their timepieces at the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair, to be held Sept. 6-10 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The event is co-organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Ltd, and the Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries Ltd. Hong Kong is the second largest exporter of timepieces in the world.

The fair will focus on promoting original designs and innovative watches and clocks through special pavilions, conferences and a design competition.

Close to 100 watch brands, including Cool, Dunlop, Jacques Farrel, Morgan and Moschino, will be on display at the Brand Name Gallery.

Watchmaker Philippe Charriol1 will share his views on the latest market development, product design trends, and strategies on brand building at the Asian Watch Conference to be held on Sept. 9. This conference is open to fair visitors for free on a first-come-first-served basis.

Winning designs of the 23rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition will be exhibited during the trade fair to showcase Hong Kong’s design capabilities.

The themes of the ‘open group’ and ‘student group’ are “Love and Forever” and “A Colourful World,” respectively. Leung Kwan Hei’s “Love in Time” and Siu Tien Sum’s “Tropical Twist Clock Watch” have been chosen as the winners out of some 250 entries.

Apart from Hong Kong, exhibitors at the Hong Kong Watch and Clock Fair come from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Korea, France, Italy, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, India, Singapore, the UK, the U.S., and Canada.

Admission is free. For more information, visit the fair Web site: http://www.hkwatchfair.com.
