Holiday Wishes, with Visions of Sugarplums

The holiday season always seems a bit magical, a time of warmth and joy, even when the weather outside is frightful and last-minute shopping for those perfect gifts keeps us all more than busy, buyers and sellers alike.

In the pages of the fashion magazines this season have appeared editorials and advertisements that are nothing less than entrancing, with jewelry as fanciful and dream-inspiring as the sugarplums in a cherished Christmas poem. Here are a few of those delights:

From a Neiman Marcus ad, featuring jewels from NSR Nina Runsdorf and La Reina by Bhansali (the comment “(Gasp!)” is in the print ad – love it!)

From a Kwiat ad in the December 2010 issue of Town & Country

From a Tiffany & Co. ad in the November 2010 issue of Vogue

Rachel McAdams in Rochas wearing an exquisite Cartier necklace, as pictured in the November 2010 issue of InStyle

Anne Hathaway in the November issue of Vogue¸ wearing a metal-embroidered Miu Miu tank, holding a clutch from Roger Vivier, and adorned with spectacular jewels—necklace from Cartier, earrings from Van Cleef & Arpels, ring from Chopard, and brooch from Boucheron worn as a hair ornament

Happy holidays! I leave you with these visions of beauty and send each and every one of you my heartfelt wishes for a joyful and prosperous New Year. May your fondest dreams come true.
