U.S. retail and food services sales for December increased an estimated 0.6 percent from the previous
month, and 7.9 percent from December 2009, the Census Bureau announced Jan. 14.
Total sales for the 12 months of 2010 were up 6.6 percent
from 2009. Total sales for the October through December 2010 period were up 7.8
percent from the same period a year ago.
Retail trade sales were up 0.7 percent from November 2010,
and 8.2 percent above last year.
