Jewelry Design House Goshwara Collaborates With Designer Bibhu Mohapatra

Luxury designs in jewelry and fashion met their match when colored stone house Goshwara partnered with acclaimed CFDA designer Bibhu Mohapatra for last month’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

For Mohapatra’s first runway show, six fur looks were paired with high-end colored gems set in 18k and platinum from Goshwara’s collection. “The rich fabrics of Bibhu’s collection merged effortlessly with our stones,” said Felicellia Sampson, client/public relations coordinator for Goshwara.

Hasenfeld-Stein Announces Launch of Diamond Re-Cutting Program

High-end diamond manufacturer Hasenfeld-Stein has announced the launch of a diamond re-cutting program. Jewelers will have the opportunity to submit purchased diamonds in an easy, Web-based process, with the option to sell or re-cut the stones. Retailers who submit a diamond are expected to receive an evaluation and judgment within 24 hours of receipt.

“Similar to the purchase of gold jewelry, retailers have been—and, we’re quite certain, will continue to—purchase diamonds from the general public for a long time to come,” said company vice president Hertz Hasenfeld. “Jewelers will now be able to send us their stones above 0.60 points and have them re-cut into GIA 3X or AGS 000s. We’re using our expertise to help retailers turn these diamonds into well-cut, very saleable, and profitable products.”

50 Couples Get Engaged on The Talk

In a proposal to end all proposals, a Valentine’s Day edition of The Talk featured 50 men proposing to their girlfriends with Demarco engagement rings. Viewers of the talk show, aired nationally on CBS, witnessed the largest-ever on-air proposal.

When host Julie Chen spoke of someone wishing to propose, the 50 men dropped to one knee—in unison—and proposed to their girlfriends in front of the live studio audience. How romantic!
