Gold, Silver Trade at Record Highs

The gold price hit a record of $1,441 an ounce March 2, according to The Street.

At press time, gold was trading at $1,437.50 an ounce. Analysts said the U.S. dollar index decrease, conflict in the
Middle East, and oil prices leant support to the metals.

The same day, silver prices also hit a 31-year high, trading at
$34.97.

The gold price surpassed $1,400 an ounce by the end of
December 2010.
