‘Go Girl’ ring inspires women

What started as a hip idea ended up as a meaningful expression adding hope to people’s lives.

This is what jewelry designer Dian Malouf of Dallas found out when she created a line of silver rings she called “Endearings” with catchy phrases. She never imagined one of those phrases would generate national interest.

The “Go Girl” ring is a simple reminder for all women to hang in there and believe in themselves and women are doing just that, Malouf says. It has been an inspiration to breast cancer survivors, and over the last four years, Malouf’s company has donated over $15,000 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The ring comes in a pink pouch and the card that accompanies has a inspiring message that ends with, “So give yourself a hug and show life that you can GO GIRL!”

“Touching letters pour in weekly from breast cancer survivors writing their personal stories about what this ring means to them,” Malouf says.

The support she received inspired Malouf to write a rap song about the Go Girl Ring called Give a Go Girl.

“I wrote the song on a train ride to Tucson, and a week later I was in the recording studio, learning to rap,” she says. “The song has an uplifting message for those facing life’s toughest moments.”

Dian Malouf Jewelry is available at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and specialty boutiques nationwide.

The Go Girl ring can also be ordered online at www.dian-malouf.com (click on “Go Girl Ring”). Sizes 5 1/2 to 8 are available.
