Due to the overwhelming response to the pre-Symposium Gemological Research Conference (August 26–27), and space limitations at the host hotel, the Gemological Institute of America is no longer accepting applications for the GRC. Registration was cut off at 700 participants, believed to be the largest attendance ever for a conference of this type.

However, there are still some limited openings available for GIA’s fourth International Gemological Symposium (August 27–29). To register for Symposium, e-mail igs@gia.edu or visit www.gia.edu for more information.

Both the symposium and the pre-symposium research conference are being held in San Diego, Calif.
