The Gemological Institute of America launched its 2011 scholarship season with more than 140 scholarships, including two new $10,000 awards from Tiffany & Co. and nearly 70 to commemorate GIA’s 80th anniversary.
Scholarships are available for both on campus and distance education programs and cover a variety of programs.
The new Tiffany & Co. scholarships can be used for any program. Tiffany president and CEO Mike Kowalski said the company wanted to make the awards available to as many students as possible.

Applications must be completed and returned by Oct. 30.
