GIA New York Career Fair Agenda

The Gemological Institute of America has announced the agenda for the 18th GIA Jewelry Career Fair being held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City on July 25.

The jewelry industry’s premier recruiting event will include over 35 companies who are seeking employees to fill a number of available positions at the Career Fair. Leading companies attending this event include David Yurman, Oscar Heyman, Tiffany & Co., and Zale Corp.

The schedule for the all-day event includes:

Working to Win Panel
Career Fair will begins as jewelry industry executives from Christie’s Americas, Borsheims, Lieberfarb, and LAGOS share secrets and tips about how to create success in the industry, with personal stories and real-life illustrations.  

Career Coaching
Twenty seven mentors will work one-on-one with participants to help sharpen their focus and offer career guidance based on experience, training and personality.

Immigration Law Workshop
The GIA Jewelry Career Fair offers legal representatives who will provide advice on how to acquire a work visa and apply cultural knowledge to a position in the United States.

Moving From Dream to Reality
A panel of up-and-coming industry elite leaders will share their career experiences and how to achieve similar success.

Jewelry Design: One Passion, Many Paths
Some of the industry’s most creative designers share how they are creating lasting and lucrative careers in the creative side of jewelry.

Marketing Yourself for Success
Participants can learn job-hunt fundamentals that will have them stand out from other job seekers and get noticed by employers.

The GIA Jewelry Career Fair in New York will run from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. The fair is free and open to anyone interested in a career in gems and jewelry.
