Jessica Simpson went for colorless stones in her first marriage to Nick
Lachey, but she’s seeing red the second time around. According to an online
source, the singer/clothing designer is now sporting a Neil Lane ruby and
diamond engagement ring given to her by football player fiancé Eric Johnson.
Apparently, Simpson showed off the new ring in the Midwest over the weekend.
JCK has learned
that it’s a classic three-stone style featuring a cushion-cut ruby center
flanked by pear-shaped diamonds in a yellow gold mounting.
Often, a celebrity’s engagement ring can inspire regular folks to seek out
similar looks (remember the J. Lo pink?). So you might want to have some
berry-red bridal options in stock, from ruby to spinel to rubellite. Other red
center stones or red accents—melee, enamel, etc.—can affordably satiate
Simpson admirer’s desire to wear red, while allowing jewelers to communicate
timely engagement news and trends. Celebrity wedding news is always good for
jewelers, because it gets consumers thinking about buying their own similar
styles!
Just like Jessica’s? Nope, this center stone is bigger. AGTA Spectrum Awards Platinum Honors recipient: Temple of the Sacred Heart ring featuring a 10.05 ct. oval
untreated ruby, 7.18 cts. t.w. colorless diamonds, and .22 cts. t.w. accent rubies.
