Gemvara Founder Hailed by Inc. Magazine

Inc. magazine
has listed Matt Lauzon, founder of custom jewelry website Gemvara, as one of
its “30 Under 30,” which tallies the “most intriguing young business owners in
America.”

While the magazine didn’t
give any revenue estimates for the Boston-based site, it wrote: “With
two more capital raises—another $5 million from Highland and Canaan at the end
of last year, and a whopping $15 million in March from Balderton Capital, a European firm—Gemvara is on a steep growth
trajectory that will take the company from 40 employees to more than 100 in the
coming months.”

It added that the company
includes “executives from Tiffany & Co. and Swarovski…[who are] frequently mistaken for Lauzon, who is
perpetually rumpled and in need of a shave.”

The article concluded that
Gemvara is eyeing partnerships.
