Funky Pa. Jewelry Store Relocates to College Town

Jewelry accessories boutique Outrageous will
relocate in March from its Shavertown, Pa., location to Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Owner Paul Nardone tells JCK said he decided to make the
move after eight years to capture some of Wilkes-Barre’s cultural
ambience. Both Wilkes University and
King’s College are nearby.

“Shavertown is right on the highway and there really is no
foot traffic,” he says. “You don’t stumble upon it because you came to a parade
or whatever.”

The store also has a Scranton location in the heart of its downtown, and the relocation to
Wilkes-Barre will align the stores together. “A standalone store is hard,” he
says. “The new location is in a quant little courtyard within the city.”

Outrageous is predominately a fashion jewelry house carrying
sterling silver pieces, including Trollbeads. The store also features a
coffeehouse, which Nardone says will be rebranded at the new location.

Nardone says the staff is looking forward to experiencing
the culture of the college town and the neighboring stores. “We’re looking
forward to becoming part of the culture and the downtown family,” he says. “At
the current location we don’t really have that.”
