Fortunoff to host emerging jewelry designers

Fortunoff jewelry locations will launch a program that will feature several emerging designers from all over the United States. These designers will make personal appearances at trunk shows, and have their collections featured in the stores.

This program, which will be held this Saturday and Sunday and on Oct. 28 and 29, is an extension of Fortunoff’s rebranding strategy by adding emerging design talent to their selection of jewelry in order to broaden its customer base and attract younger customers. Recently, the store began a new campaign featuring the new face of Fortunoff, supermodel and humanitarian, Petra Nemcova.

“This program will bring in a new consumer who’s influenced by the trends, and perhaps may just be encountering for the very first time what a resource Fortunoff can be,” said Joel Kier, chairman of the Kier Group and a director of Fortunoff. “It’s also in keeping with our overall strategy to reposition Fortunoff as a premiere destination for a variety of savvy shoppers.”

Kier Group and Trimaran Capital Partners acquired the majority interest in the company from the Fortunoff and Mayrock families in July 2005.
