Helena Krodel, the former director of media and special events for Jewelers of America, has left to become the director of Studio PR, a New York-based PR agency.
She replaces Shaye Strager, who is retiring from agency life to spend more time with her family, but will remain on the Studio PR board of directors.
Krodel spent nine years at the Jewelry Information Center (JIC), which eventually became part of Jewelers of America.
She says Studio PR plans to expand its activities and roster of clients, which are mostly comprised of jewelry companies.
“We still want to remain a boutique agency but we will be seeking out new endeavors in 2012,” Krodel told JCK.
The agency also promoted Mark Davidovich to senior account executive. Studio PR is owned by Jim DeMattei.
