Forecast: E-commerce Will Keep Growing in U.S.

Online retail in the U.S. will continue on a double-digit
growth trajectory over the next five years, according to a new forecast from
Forrester Research.

The forecast says U.S. retail will grow at a 10 percent
compound annual growth rate from 2010 to 2015, reaching $279 billion in 2015.

“With consumer purchasing behavior returning to normal, U.S. Web sales in 2010 actually accelerated over 2009 compared with the prior year,
growing 12.6 percent,” said Patti Freeman Evans, Forrester vice president and
research director, in a statement.
