Florida Jeweler Charged With Faking Attack

Police charged a jeweler in Sheffner, Florida with filing a
false police report claiming he had been attacked robbed by three men,
according to a local news report.

According to the report, the jeweler, Gerard Sanzone, cut himself repeatedly to make it look like it had survived a knife
attack.  He allegedly told police that three
men weighing 300 pounds attacked him, and that after fending off his attackers, one of them
made off with $200 cash and a $10,000 pair of earrings.

Police don’t know why Sanzone allegedly made up the story.
