David Hinkamp, co-owner of Hinkamp Jewelers in Fayetteville, N.C, died unexpectedly Jan. 1 at age 50, reports The Fayetteville Observer.

Hinkamp graduated from the Holland School for Jewelers, and ran Hinkamp Jewelers with his brother Wally. Friends and family said Hinkamp—who served as a booster at his children’s school, Village Christian Academy, and a deacon at Fayetteville Village Baptist Church—was known for his kindness, friendliness, and dedication to his community. 

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hinkamp; his two children; his brother Wally Hinkamp Jr.; and his twin sister, Donna Warren.
