Fast-Forward to Fall with the Newest from Polly Wales

Share

I have been really good at living in the moment—appreciating summer for the way it allows me to just slip on a sleeveless dress and go, the way it feels when a cool breeze blows at just the right time, letting the kids sleep in (and me with them).

It is just about this time in July when I start longing for autumn and Halloween (it might have something to do with the way holiday merchandise is starting to trickle into stores), but I have restrained myself, insisting on living in—and appreciating—the now.

Until I got an eyeful of the newest releases from Polly Wales, that is. Is it fall yet?

I find the designer’s work to always have a touch of the season in it—probably for its mainstay skull jewelry, marvelously macabre and ingeniously set with gems—but the fall/winter 2025 launch, gemmy and wild with Wales’ signature touch, just oozes it. Replete with richly hued gemstones fit for an autumnal palette, the carefully created earrings, pendants, and rings (34 pieces in all) promise us that the season ahead will be anything but devoid of color—it might, in fact, rival the brightest of summer.

The brand’s notes on the collection paint the picture beautifully, touching on the new colorways emblematic of nature and, to me, the new season’s landscapes. “[New colorway] Cypress is a forest bath of earthy hues—the acidic yellow greens of creeping lichen, the rich browns of the loamy floor, and the blue hues of a fragrant pine,” the notes read.

New to Polly Wales’ core collection are the Chubby hoops, a wonderfully chunky gold pair set with gemstones; Titania Pinky Skulls, an extra-small take on the brand’s signature skull, and named for Shakespeare’s fairy queen; and new Cetonia rings and padlocks, in fauna-focused gemstone combinations (to complement the brand’s famous Flora jewels).

It was a massive challenge to narrow down some favorites to share from the 34 new creations, but I managed! The jewels just recently made their wholesale debut, and won’t go live on the brand’s website until October, so it’s the perfect time for all you retailers to get stocking.
