Edward G. Shedlin, 90, of Singer Island, Fla., and Greenwich, Conn., a
principal partner of wholesale diamond and jewelry business Shedlin Inc.,
passed away July 2. Shedlin and his partners were among the first in the
business to practice multicultural hiring and extend benefits such as profit
sharing and health care to all employees.

Shedlin is survived by his wife, Jane; children Dori and Chuck; stepchildren
Toni, Stan and Laurie Lee; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
