Cirque Du Soleil has many highly recommended resident shows in the city, as do several of New York’s beloved Broadway hits. Then there are national and international favorites. Nearly every night, the choices are almost endless on what performance to see. Depending on your group, there truly is something for just about every interest and age group. Blue Man Group


Created by Matt Goldman, Phil Stanton and Chris Wink in New York in 1987, Blue Man Group is so successful, it now resides in Boston and Chicago in addition to New York and Las Vegas. This interactive, unique show blends everything from art to music to theater, creating something new which continually surprises. The performers are accompanied by a live band, and make many of their own instruments with stage props, such as sticks, paddles, maybe even food! If you want to see a show that is interactive, creative, and anything but boring, this is the one to see!

Jubilee! is everything you expect to see in a traditional Las Vegas showgirls performance, right down to all the right details. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Donn Arden’s production—a seven act classic featuring million-dollar sets and costumes by Bob Mackie. The performers, including 50 classic showgirls, were voted “Best Showgirls” by the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s “Best of Las Vegas” readers’ poll.

KÀ Cirque Du Soleil

is the coming of age drama of a young man and a young woman, a set of twins. Through the duration of the performance, we see their experiences in love and conflict, all portrayed in beautiful landscapes. According to the troupe’s website, the title, KÀ, is inspired by the ancient Egyptian belief in the “ka,” an invisible spiritual duplicate of the body that accompanies every human being throughout this life and into the next.

LOVE Cirque du Soleil – LOVE is the combination of Cirque Du Soleil’s original performance style with the classic music of the Beatles. This marks the first time in history that The Beatles company, Apple Corps Ltd., has agreed to a major theatrical partnership.

Mamma Mia!

Before the movie version hits the silver screen this summer, see the hit Broadway in Las Vegas first! Fans of ABBA old and new will laugh, cry and feel compelled to dance as their music brilliantly comes alive on stage. The band’s lush, confectionary pop is integrated into the central story of a young woman’s search to find her father before she gets married—by inviting three possibilities to her wedding!

Monty Python’s Spamalot

– You’ll see dead people—dancing. But it’s not the musicalization of The Sixth Sense; it’s the whacked-out musical staging of cult film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. You’ll also see God, Round Table Knights, airborne cows and even a murderous bunny. But what else would you expect from Eric Idle, the writer/lyricist and Python alum? Mike Nichols directs the insanity.

Mystère

premiered in 2003 at Treasure Island, and continues to amaze audiences in the classic Cirque Du Soleil style – with a beautiful set and elaborate costumes, make-up and performances that bring us into another world. Franco Dragone describes the show as “a celebration of the cycle of life.”

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s s smash hit

Phantom of the Opera

gets a makeover with Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular. $40 million went into the custom-built theater designed to resemble Opera Garnier in Paris. The show has been cut down to about 90 minutes but the famous songs from the haunting musical remain intact.

At the internationally popular show Stomp Out Loud, music crosses language and cultural barriers. Using no words, the performers speak to the audience and to each other using solely music and rhythms created from plastic bags, trash cans and pizza boxes, among various other “instruments.” Even before the show, the audience is treated to a workshop in which they have the opportunity to create their own music with the objects used in the show!

Zumanity, The Sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil

The exotic phenomenon has taken an erotic turn, exploring various aspects of sensuality (often humorously) in the course of the 90 minute show.
