Entries are now being accepted for the Rio Tinto Diamonds Global Design Competition. Winning designs will be showcased at a suite at the 2012 Academy Awards.

Open to entrants from the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, China, India, and Australia, the design competition closes Oct. 28—now less than two weeks away. Judging will take place in New York City on Nov. 1.

Candidates can submit designs in the categories of champagne diamonds, silvermist diamonds, Canadian diamonds, and sustainable jewelry, either as a Rising Star or a Master Craftsman, two sub-categories.
