David Tishbi Lends A Hand to Engaged Couples

David Tishbi recently made the process of getting married a little less stressful for six couples in need. To celebrate his own 12-year anniversary in business, Tishbi launched the Wedding Ring Giveaway whereby recently married couples could pen their stories of challenging times and enter them into a competition for a chance to win a pair of wedding bands from Tishbi’s new Eternity collection.

Tishbi received a total of 57 entries, personally reviewing all, and gave away 12 wedding bands to six couples. Couples were required to show copies of marriage licenses to be eligible for a win, and the winning couples got to choose from 50 different styles in the collection, ranging in retail price from $129 – $624 for a sterling silver and 14k yellow or rose gold band.

The altruistic move is Tishbi’s first on this scale, and the designer read through lots of worthy requests—from couples that had to sell their rings to feed their children, to those who lost everything in the Katrina flood. “There are also same-sex couples that can not get married due to their location in the U.S,” he adds.

Perhaps most heart-wrenching: the couple cash-strapped by the fiance’s three brain surgeries, all but turning the pair’s ring-ownership dream into a fantasy—until Tishbi’s contest turned that dream into a reality.
