Jewelry designer Paula Crevoshay has donated her George Pendant to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History.
In a ceremony attended by Cristián Samper, director of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, Paula Crevoshay, Martin Bell, and Jeffrey Post, curator of the National Gem and Mineral Collection, Crevoshay’s pendant was accepted into the National Gem Collection.
The centerpiece of the 18k George Pendant is an extremely rare green zircon of unusual quality and size accented with four accented with green tourmalines. The green zircon comes from the Ratnapura mines of Sarendip, Sri Lanka. The 18k, handmade pendant is. The pendant was cut en cabochon by George Crevoshay, of whom the pendant was named.
