Companies will be looking for talent at GIA Career Fair

Fortunoff, Zale Corp., Lux Bond & Green, are among the companies that will be looking for talented employees at the upcoming Gemological Institute of America Career Fair.

“Career Fair is the gem and jewelry industry’s best opportunity for companies recruiting employees to meet hundreds of highly-qualified and eager job seekers,” said Kathryn Kimmel, Career Fair creator and GIA’s vice president of Marketing and Public Relations. “Last year’s two events attracted over 1,700 career seekers, and this year’s Career Fair promises to be just as big.”

On the East Coast, the 2006 GIA Jewelry Career Fair will be held just prior to the JA Summer Show, at New York’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center July 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
On the West Coast, GIA Jewelry Career Fair will be held in Carlsbad, Calif., Oct. 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Other companies signed-up to recruit this year include Iridesse, Lieberfarb, Inc., Michael C. Fina Company, Podicko Diamonds Ltd., Shah Diamonds, Inc., Ultra Diamonds, Tapper’s, Fredric H. Rubel Jewelers, and Warner Co. Jewelers.

Whether recruiting in New York or in Carlsbad, employers will benefit from on-site screening and interviews with prospective employees, pre-event publicity, and a showcase for company products and positions. Companies can register for either fair up until the day of the event.
