Collectors Universe Inc., provider of value-added authentication and grading services to dealers and collectors of high-value collectibles, announced Thursday it earned a fourth quarter profit.
The Newport Beach, Calif., company earned $87,000 compared with the net loss of $13.1 million in 2008, but still posted a net loss for 2009 of $16.9 million.
Collectors Universe exited the jewelry grading business in March. The company also decided to discontinue the further development of its Gemprint business.
