Collections by JCK has unveiled its educational program for the event, taking place Sept. 24-25 at the Vancouver Trade & Convention Centre. The educational opportunities available at the show are designed to help today’s Canadian retailers thrive in every aspect of their business.
“The Collections by JCK conference program is a great resource for Canadian retailers and business owners,” said Bev Hori, vice president of Ben Bridge Jewelers in Seattle. “The sales associate training track provides a unique opportunity for us to educate our employees about current industry trends and selling to high-end customers.”
The conference program will include two industry-leading keynote addresses. Tom Hoefer, principal advisor of Communications and Government Relations of the Diavik Diamond Mines, will share the story of Canadian diamonds and how they make it through the pipeline to retail stores. Shane Decker, president of the Ex-Sell-Ence Shane Decker Sales Academy, will present “Recession Proof Your Business.”
Diane Warga-Arias, president of DWA Communications, will present a special luncheon session where she will discuss how successful retailers attract and serve their affluent customers while still keeping pace with the broader luxury market. Participants will leave with a collection of more than 25 marketing strategies that retailers and designers can employ to expand their luxury market share.
“We wanted to introduce inspiring and informative education tracks that are not only useful for retail owners and buyers, but also their sales associates,” said Dave Bonaparte, group vice president of JCK Events. “Our unique Sales Associate track will provide the sales skills and tools needed for those professionals on the front lines selling to our retailers consumers.”
He continued, “The Business Track, designed for business owners and managers, will help increase profitability with seminars from industry-leaders on topics such as ‘Selling Jewelry Online’ and ‘Adding Value by Greening Your Company.’ The Sales Associate Track will feature training in ‘Selling & Understanding Gemstone Treatments’ and Matrix CAD/CAM Effectiveness. Sales Associates will also gain insight from Dave Richardson of Richardson Resource Group, who will present ‘The Greatest 25 Sales Tips Ever.’”
Collections by JCK will feature more than 90 exhibitors, The Design Centre, wine tastings on the Show floor, an opening night welcome reception, and tours of the EGL Gem Laboratories.
