California-based designer-jewelry brand Suzanne Kalan has been tempting me with its jewels for quite some time now. Not only do I have a photo library rife with designer Suzanne Kalandjian’s eye-catching designs, but I also have an opportunity to purchase them dangled within my reach nearly everywhere I shop: Net-A-Porter, Shopbop, and Neiman Marcus, to name a few. The pieces also appear in a smattering of retail stores throughout the U.S. and the world.
Kalandjian’s Fireworks line, featuring brilliant layouts of baguette diamonds and colored gemstones in an array of earrings, rings, necklaces, and bracelets, is a constant on my (ahem, yet to be fulfilled) wishlist. Now, just in time for the holidays (note to my Secret Santa), there’s a new line of designs that build on the beauty of Fireworks: Cascade Fireworks. I hadn’t thought it possible, but I may be even more obsessed with these pieces.
Cascade Fireworks charm bracelet in 18k yellow gold with 0.75 ct. t.w. diamonds, $4,600
Cascade Fireworks chandelier earrings in 18k white gold with 1.8 cts. t.w. baguette and 2.75 cts. t.w. round diamonds, $17,000
Cascade Fireworks curved bar pendant in 18k yellow gold with 0.91 ct. t.w. diamonds, $5,800
Cascade Fireworks long drop earrings in 18k yellow gold with 0.7 ct. t.w. baguette and 0.6 ct. t.w. round diamonds, $5,000
Still relying on that signature baguette, Cascade Fireworks is as it sounds: dangling lines of shapes, with graceful, flowing movement and swing. Some of the pieces take the waterfall approach, with racing chains and descending baguette stones at the ends; others are of the charm variety. My favorite piece of the bunch (seriously Secret Santa, pay attention)—a choker in yellow gold, which dangles stones in an alternating one-two pattern from a sleek row of horizontally set baguette diamonds along the neck.
Cascade Fireworks charm choker in 18k yellow gold with 1.6 cts. t.w. baguette and 0.25 ct. t.w. round diamonds, $11,200
Cascade Fireworks charm hoops in 18k yellow gold with 0.57 ct. t.w. baguette diamonds, $7,000
“When I started the Fireworks collection, I changed the perception of how baguette diamonds are traditionally used. I found that having the diamonds offset increases the drama in a piece,” said Kalandjian in a press release. “However, there are more creative and unique ways to use baguette diamonds, and that’s why I created the Cascade Fireworks collection. Baguettes are stunning with movement and can be delicate while making a statement.”
Cascade Fireworks earrings in 18k rose gold with 0.38 ct. t.w. baguette and 0.5 ct. t.w. round diamonds, $4,400
Cascade Fireworks dangling necklace in 18k yellow gold with 0.88 ct. t.w. diamonds, $4,400
There are currently 15 pieces in the collection (any of which I would be pleased with, Secret Santa), but the designer plans to build upon it in the future. Prices retail from $1,550–$12,000. For more, visit suzannekalan.com.
