San Francisco–based Chatham Gemstones just announced
the addition of a new cut: a flame shape. The stone’s physical
appearance strongly resembles that of a flame, what with the attraction and dispersion
of light fragments—like tiny flames dancing in a fire.

Chatham also designed special settings for each individual
flame-cut piece. Varieties of stones available in new shape include
alexandrite, blue sapphire, emeralds, rubies, padparadscha, and pink sapphire.
