Braunwart named AGTA president

The American Gem Trade Association announced the results of its 2003 elections for the AGTA Board of Directors.

Elections were held for president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, as well as three director positions. The following officers were elected:

President: Eric Braunwart, Columbia Gem House, Inc.
Vice President: Ashok Sancheti, Pioneer Gems
Secretary: Allen Kleiman, A. Kleiman and Company
Treasurer: Barbara Lawrence, Boston Gems and Findings, Inc.
Director: Betty Sue King, King’s Ransom
Director: Michael Arnstein, Walter Arnstein, Inc.
Director: Glenn Lehrer, Glenn Lehrer Designs

The new officers and directors will serve three-year terms and were introduced at the AGTA membership meeting February 9 in Tucson, Ariz. They began their terms February 11.

The newly elected members of the Board join the following officers and directors who are currently serving terms on the AGTA Board:

Vice President: Robert Linder, Lindeau Gems, Inc.
Director: Philip Zahm, Philip Zahm Gemstones
Director: Richard Krementz, Richard Krementz Gemstones, LLC
Director: Jack Abraham, Precious Gem Resources

The AGTA Board of Directors holds elections on a rotating cycle in order to guarantee coherence of the Board’s long-term plans.
