Bonhams Jewelry Auction Earns $3.87 Million

Bonhams New York Jewelry April Sale on April 12 earned a
total of $3.87 million in sales, with 90 percent of the auction sold.

A 9.20 ct. E IF diamond solitaire sold was the top lot,
selling for $792,400.

Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and David Webb were also
among top selling items. A Cartier diamond necklace sold for $103,700, against
a pre-sale estimate of $45,000–$65,000.

“[The] sale saw exceedingly strong sale-through rates, with
many of the lots offered far exceeding our pre-sale estimates,” Matthew
Girling, group jewelry director, said in a statement.
