Bangkok Fair Offers Opportunity

Opportunities to help the gem and jewelry industry to save costs, get significant bargains, rejuvenate the market, and generate new revenues are up for grabs at the upcoming 43rd Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair, according to trade fair organizers.

The fair can be instrumental to helping the industry to survive this crisis, moving forward and sustaining its growth as economic recovery takes hold, according to the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association, which organizes the fair.

The 43rd edition of the trade fair is, will be held Feb. 25 to March 1, 2009.

“The industry is very much looking forward to this spectacular event at the time when the market needs a good stimulation, said Somchai Phornchindarak, BGJF chief executive. “The industry’s interest in participating at the 43rd fair remains robust because the fair is viewed as providing a window of opportunities.”

Approximately 1,300 Thai and international exhibitors are expected to occupy more than 3,500 booths in the 100,000-square-metre column-free hall of Challenger exhibition center.

In addition, the Thailand International Jewelry Awards 2009 at the fair is expected to attract some 30,000 visitors. This event showcases the skill of top designers from around the world. Sixty semi-finalists, out of a total of 1,500 designs, will have their designs produced for the show, where the top three winners will be announced.
