The New York Diamond Dealers Club announced that Jacob Banda was re-elected president. The results of the election followed a political firestorm that included a court challenge of election results.
“I sincerely appreciate the overwhelming vote of confidence given to me by the membership in reelecting me President of the Diamond Dealers Club,” Banda said. “The diamond industry is facing critical challenges both in America and worldwide. I look forward to working with our officers, board and membership to improve business opportunities for all diamantaires while at the same time ensuring that we continue to provide the highest degree of consumer confidence in our industry.”
Other DDC officers elected are: Moshe Mosbacher, vice president, Nissan Perla, secretary, and Jacob Weinstock, treasurer.
In alphabetical order, elected to the Board were Gary Dimenstein, Abraham Einhorn, Meliech Fastag, Dov Fruchter, Eli Gottlieb, Joseph Khafi, David Klein, Philip Klein, Aaron Landau, Benjamin Moller, Robert Moskovitz, Zev (William) Oster, Moshe David Reisz, Solomon Rybak, Leon Well and Moshe Zwiebel.
