Atlanta Jewelry Show to Include Brazilian Gems Exhibition

The Southern Jewelry Travelers Association has partnered with the Gemological Institute of American to give retailers the opportunity to preview a collection of Brazilian jewelry during the Atlanta Jewelry Show, Aug. 11-13, at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. As the only showing of its kind in the Southeast, the exhibit will be featured in the GIA’s special “Collection Booth”.

“We are thrilled to be working with GIA to bring such a unique collection of Brazilian jewelry to our retail audience,” says Carol Young, executive director, SJTA, producer and manager of the Atlanta Jewelry Show. “It is the first time that the collection is traveling to the East Coast. The outstanding selection of signature pieces, donated by Brazil’s award-winning designers and top manufacturers to the GIA Museum, offers a true look at the creativity that is abundant in Brazil today.”

Created with the support of the Brazilian Institute of Gems and Precious Metals and the Brazilian jewelry industry, the addition of the collection to GIA’s Museum has provided an excellent learning opportunity for GIA students and for the public.

“The gem wealth, exuberance, flora and fauna of this South American country are reflected in each and every piece in this collection,” said GIA museum director Elise Misiorowski. “We look forward to partnering with STJA to give independent retailers throughout the southeast the chance to feel the spirit and soul of the collections’ unique pieces.  These beautiful jewels will inspire all who see them.”

The August 11-13, 2007 Atlanta Jewelry Show will bring together more than 800 exhibiting companies showcasing introductions from top name brands and designers in every product category, including antique jewelry, bridal, designer, diamond, pearl, platinum, gold and sterling jewelry, charms, earrings, diamonds, watches, and tools. In addition, retailers will also enjoy a range of buyer services, educational seminars, and networking events.
