Ashford.com previews spring things

At a recent spring fashion show in New York, Ashford.com unveiled some of its jewelry collections available to consumers shopping online this spring. Featured designers include Me & Ro, Robin Rotenir, Tateossian, Elizabeth Showers, Boucher, and Ashford’s own collection. Jewelry from International Jewelry Design Guild members is also available, such as pieces from Diana Vincent, Jane Bohan, John Atencio, Lisa Jenks, Scott Keating, and Whitney Boin.

Cool blues and greens were prevalent among collections, with turquoise and apatite stones evident in designs. Pearls were mixed with sterling silver for ‘fresh and sporty’ looks, according to Ashford. But there’s still talk of gold, according to Cheryl Holland, vice president of merchandising for Ashford.

”We’re expanding [yellow] gold selections in our Ashford Collection,” she says. ”Gold is really just gaining the momentum it needs to become a category.”

Last year’s styles included more gold and diamond designs and fewer colored stones. Consumers are embracing handcrafted and unusual pieces this season, including those with garnets and pearls. ”These creations don’t look `put together wrong’ anymore,” insists Holland.
