Mining giant Anglo American Plc on Wednesday reported year headline profits up 53% to $2.0 billion, driven by strong diamonds and platinum, as well as coal and forest products, Reuters reported.
That compared to analysts’ forecasts of headline net profit before exceptionals and goodwill of around $1.99 billion for the year to end-December.
Anglo declared a final dividend of $1.30 dollars, bringing the year dividend to $1.90 — an increase of 27%.
