American Express and foursquare on June 23 announced a
national partnership which would enable American Express card members to get
special deals if they link their card to their foursquare profiles.
The specials could be redeemed without the need for coupons,
special codes, or showing their mobile devices to cashiers, said a statement.
The launch kicks off with specials from H&M, Sports
Authority, and Union Square Hospitality Group, and will eventually include national
and local merchant offers.
“We’re thrilled to take this partnership to the next level,”
said Ed Gilligan, vice chairman, American Express, in a statement. “For
us, this is just the beginning.”
