American Express to Offer Daily Deals on Facebook

American Express has
jumped into the daily deal space by announcing a new program to offer deals
on its Facebook page.

The Link, Like,
Love
program lets members link their cards
with the program and choose their favorite deal through the American Express Facebook page.

When members use the “Link, Like, Love” application on the
American Express Facebook page, they will be connected to a personalized
dashboard through which American Express will deliver deals, content, and
experiences based on their Facebook likes and interests, as well as the likes
and interests of their friends. For example, if members like a
certain jewelry brand on Facebook, the members may see a deal from that brand
in their dashboards.  

The shopper can choose the deals they want and then use
their card as they usually do. American Express will send statement credits to
their card accounts—no coupons, no print-outs.

The company is also
unveiling a new marketing tool for small businesses, “Go
Social” (americanexpress.com/gosocial).
This will allow merchants to create and distribute coupon-free offers into
digital channels such as Facebook and similar platforms.

Initial merchants planning to offer deals through this
program: 20th Century Fox, Dunkin’ Donuts, Whole Foods Market, Lord &
Taylor, Outback Steakhouse, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Virgin
America, Bonefish Grill, H&M, Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine, Westin Hotels
& Resorts, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts,
Celebrity Cruises, Lenovo, Sports Authority, 1-800-FLOWERS, and Travelocity.
