Alex Soldier Designs Awards for Ceremony

The Princess Grace Foundation-USA recently collaborated with jewelry artist
Alex Soldier for the second consecutive year to create the 2010 Princess Grace
Awards and the Prince Rainier III Award. The Foundation honors artistic
achievements in honor of its namesake, Princess Grace of Monaco.

Soldier’s trophies feature symbols representing theater, dance, and film,
disciplines that were close to Princess Grace’s heart. All are crafted in
platinum-plated silver with black obsidian and Swarovski crystal accents, and
bear the textured metalwork that is a signature of Soldier’s style. The Prince
Rainier III Award sculpture is also presented as a pin.

The awards will be presented at the 28th Annual Princess Grace Awards Gala on
Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The
ceremony includes the presentation of 21 awards to emerging artists in theater,
dance, and film as well as the Prince Rainier III Award to be presented to
Denzel and Pauletta Washington. The Princess Grace Statue Award will be
presented to Anna D. Shapiro.

Her Royal Highness Caroline Princess of Hanover will preside over the
festivities, and Bonnie Pfeifer Evans serves as Gala chair. The gala’s
presenting sponsor is Hermès.
