The American Gem Trade Association has launched an online sourcing guide for the gem and jewelry industry. AGTA developed the site in conjunction with MultiView Inc., a publisher of online supplier directories for national associations.
AGTA said the Gem Industry Guide will help provide their members and industry professionals, with an online search tool that will give them quick access to an extensive directory of industry-specific products and services. The directory is accessible through a prominent link located on the AGTA Web site: www.agta.org.
“We are always looking for opportunities to offer more exposure for the association and its members,” said Douglas K. Hucker, AGTA chief executive officer. “This guide is a proven solution for web savvy companies looking for gemstone and jewelry related products.”
Online searchers will be able to use the guide to locate industry products and services without the clutter of a general Internet search engine, AGTA said in a statement. Users will have the option of performing keyword-driven searches, or a category-specific search.
The guide also includes “Request for Information” functionality. This feature allows users to contact participating suppliers with a click of their mouse. With a downloadable desktop search application available, industry professionals will also have the ability to search for items directly from a small search window on their desktops.
