AGS sponsors GIA Symposium

The American Gem Society will be a sponsor of the Gemological Institute of America’s fourth International Gemological Symposium, Aug. 27–29 in San Diego, Calif.

“The American Gem Society is proud to support our sister organization at the 2006 International Gemological Symposium,” said Ruth Batson, AGS executive director and CEO. “Our organizations are both driven by the same goals and vision of our founder, Robert M. Shipley.  AGS believes what is good for GIA is good for the jewelry industry.”

“As the event draws closer, I am thrilled to see the support for Symposium continuing to grow,” said Kathryn Kimmel, GIA vice president of Marketing and Public Relations and event co-chair. “Because of the generosity of AGS and our many other sponsors, this unique event promises to be enjoyable and valuable for everyone.”

Symposium will bring together upwards of 1,400 attendees from throughout the gem and jewelry industry to discuss a variety of issues affecting every aspect of the trade. To register for Symposium and the pre-Symposium Gemological Research Conference (Aug. 26–27), e-mail igs@gia.edu.
