The American Gem Society, Las Vegas, will premiere a new educational session that promotes consumer protection at the MJSA Expo in New York, the Society announced.
The new presentation showcased is titled Full Disclosure – How it Can Benefit Your Business. Diane Flora, CGA and Director of Education at the American Gem Society will discuss various treatments of gemstones and the responsibilities of the supplier, manufacturer and retailer to disclose this on the invoice. The seminar will emphasize how disclosure can equal added value and sales as well as protect the consumer. The 90-minute session will be offered on Tuesday, March 4th at 10 a.m.
“Education and consumer protection are ideals practiced daily throughout the AGS membership,” said Ruth Batson, Executive Director/CEO, American Gem Society. “Getting the message out to the trade will in turn protect the consumer and contribute to the betterment of the industry.”
