Three men rammed a Range Rover through the windows of a French Riviera jewelry store and walked off in broad daylight with necklaces and earrings worth about 25 million francs ($3.25 million), police said on Sunday.
Witnesses said that the robbers pulverized the windows of the Van Cleef & Arpels luxury jewelers on the famous Croisette beachside boulevard in Cannes and took several runs at the internal security screen before collecting the booty, Reuters reported.
They made off with the takings stashed in golf bags, leaving the Swiss-registered vehicle wedged inside the shop and walking to a nearby street to reach accomplices in a getaway car, Reuters reported.
