Summer Lovin’: The 2025 PR Valentine’s Wish List

Share

It’s time for our annual Valentine’s Day wish list, courtesy of our in-the-know friends who work in jewelry public relations. We asked each of them to select one piece they’d like to be gifted this Valentine’s—but with a slight twist.

Last year, the jewel had to be red. But this year, as the snow still piles up outside (which is totally reasonable as it’s only February, but ick!), our minds can’t help but wander to warmer, sun-soaked days. And so the jewel on the Valentine’s wish list has to be one you can wear now but also well into summer (and even beyond).

You’ll find a few trends among the choices, observations that should prove relevant to retailers stocking their spring showcases. Chunky gold is still the bee’s knees, as are richly colored gemstones (always) and glittering diamonds. You’ll love the jewels below just as much as this bunch does, we’d bet our candy hearts on it!

“Fun fact: I’ve never really been drawn to heart motifs in jewelry. Hearts have never been my thing, but when Rainbow K launched the heart Prestige bangle, my mind was changed. It’s the ultimate Valentine’s Day–to–summer piece—transformative and versatile, elevating casual outfits to summer bathing suit looks. It’s sexy, edgy, and cool—qualities typical heart motifs just can’t match. I love a sexy, chic, and unique look, and this is by far the most distinctive heart design I’ve come across.”

“I have been on a mission to build out my everyday bracelet stack, and this Studio Wave diamond bracelet from Lagos is at the top of my wish list this Valentine’s Day. It’s timeless, but with a bit of a twist. With a few vacations already in the roster for this spring and summer, I can’t imagine a better addition to my packing (read: stacking) list.”

“This Valentine’s Day, my dream wish-list item would have to be the Capri ring from Seal & Scribe’s latest collection, Hidden Messages. It has a Sleeping Beauty turquoise cabochon surrounded by these stunning shield-shape step-cut diamonds. My husband and I are planning a trip to Capri this summer, one of my favorite places in the world, so it would only be fair to rock this juicy dome ring around the island, right? The coolest part: The inside of the ring features a hidden secret message on a hand-cast seal of a mighty lion intaglio bearing the motto ‘Le plus fort peut s’effrayer d’un rien,’ or ‘The strongest can be frightened of nothing.’ So not only is this ring incredible to look at, but it has meaning behind it too. Add to cart…”

“I’ll be wearing this ring from Future Fortune Jewelry from now through spring and all summer long. Within these winter months it reminds me that warmer weather will be here soon—it makes me happy!”

“The Sunbeam ring has all the essential elements—gold design detail, sparkle of diamonds, and a juicy center gemstone. The ring’s motif symbolizes your inner radiance, projecting positive energy and what you put forth into the world. I love wearing a statement ring that has an understated but grand look and feel. I’m also an emerald girl—the perfect year-round gemstone.”

“For Valentine’s Day I want literally anything from Wyld Box, but especially their Mini Luna pavé ring. Just like the rest of the collection, I love how bold and edgy the piece is while still being romantic and feminine. It also plays well when stacked alongside other rings, something I find so important. I also really want a kitten for Valentine’s Day, but that is another story (cough, cough, husband).”

“It is always a tough selection for me to choose only one piece—what to pick when you love it all? I’ve had my eye on this diamond choker necklace from Verragio for a while now. It’s white gold, and though I generally opt for yellow, the two-tone trend is finally speaking to me. It feels fresh and modern, like the old rules no longer apply, and it makes for a much more interesting neck mess. I want this lovely little smile of diamonds to rest right between my collarbones, and it will pair beautifully with sweaters or florals for spring and with sundresses and caftans at the beach or cabana this summer. I feel like it would perk me up on gray days and add some extra sparkle on my very best days—my own personal and portable sunshine. The necklace is aptly named Hera, for the goddess of women, and I could rock this female-empowerment vibe all year long.”

“For Valentine’s Day this year, I have my eye on the Macadam Horizon bangle. It is the perfect pop of color yet neutral enough to wear with everything, including my Love bracelets, which I never take off. What makes this bracelet even more special is that it has sapphires and rubies, representing both of my daughters’ birthstones.”

“I’m obsessed with Auvere’s Butterfly cuff, because although the design is so light and airy, it’s all of that negative space that packs such a bold punch. I’m a wears-the-same-necklace-and-earrings-every-day kind of gal, so bracelets and rings are really where I accessorize. This cuff gives clean, minimalistic, strong. The aesthetic is still super romantic—perfect for date nights—and even with the colder weather I would totally wear this over the top of a long sleeve. But I also envision myself wearing this daily in the summertime. Not only does simplicity in design reign during the hotter months, but the need for real, solid gold—nothing plated or dipped—is a nonnegotiable with sweaty temps.”
