JudeFrances is now without Frances.

Frances Gadbois, who was cofounder and designer of the popular jewelry brand, sold her portion of the company in March. The company is now 100 percent owned by its other cofounder, Jude Steele.

JudeFrances Jewelry director of public relations Emily Cohen says that, with the exception of Gadbois, the company’s design team is still intact. In March, the company hired Barbara Laird, its former vice president of sales, to serve as president.

According to the company’s Facebook page, the company was founded after Gadbois and Steele met at a charity dinner in 2002 and decided they would be ideal business partners.

Gadbois’ new venture is called Sloane Street. Other partners include Susan Bush, former executive vice president of JudeFrances, who will serve as chief operating officer; and Gadbois’ 21-year-old daughter Charlotte, who will design pieces and serve as director of communications.

Frances Gadbois has also taken over JudeFrances’ contract with Lulu Avenue, the home-sales division of moissanite manufacturer Charles & Colvard.

Sloane Street will feature 18k gold and diamond pieces under the Sloane Street by Frances label, as well as a 14k gold and diamond line aimed at twentysomethings designed by Charlotte Gadbois under the Sage by Sloane Street label.
