Flash Jewelry Site Ajaline Closing

Ajaline, billed as the first “flash sale” site devoted solely to jewelry, is shutting down, the company announced in a Sept. 30 email to members.

The company’s site was offline at press time.

“Ajaline no longer has the resources to operate and re-launch ajaline.com,” said the email. “We have been unsuccessful in raising the additional funding we require to deliver the consistently high level of product assortment and service that is our mission and what our members have come to expect.”

The note thanks the site’s members “for [their] support and for believing in us.”

“This has been an incredible ride for all of us and we are grateful for the opportunity to have served you,” said the email.

Ajaline launched in February and featured jewelry brands like Lagos, Buccellati, and Temple St. Clair. The site was founded by Meeling Wong, a former sales manager for David Yurman and president of John Hardy.
