WFDB Sends Condolences to Japan

World Federation of Diamond Bourses president Avi Paz sent
his condolences to the people of Japan and the Japanese diamond community
following the disaster caused by the country’s largest-ever earthquake and
tsunami on March 11.

Paz said in a statement that the global diamond business was
with the people of Japan at such a difficult time and as it attempted to
recover from the enormous blow that had led to the deaths of thousands of
people.

Paz also stated that as far as he knew, no members of the
Japanese diamond trade had been affected by the natural disasters, and that the
WFDB was offering any support that it could provide to the Tokyo Diamond
Exchange.

“On behalf of the WFDB, I would like to send my
heartfelt best wishes for a speedy recovery, and to offer any help and support
to our colleagues in Japan, particularly to our friends and colleagues at the
Tokyo Diamond Exchange,” Paz concluded.
