A jewelry store owner in Lenexa, Kan., was shot during an armed robbery June 23.
Lenexa Police Department public information officer Dan Friesen tells JCK that a man entered the Jewelry Shoppe on June 23 around 3 p.m. intending to rob the store.
“We don’t really know what happened and why he felt the need to shoot the victim,” Friesen says. The victim was treated at a nearby hospital. He is in stable condition.
Friesen says an undetermined amount of jewelry was taken. Police are still investigating the altercation. However, Friesen says there doesn’t appear to be any surveillance video.
The investigation is ongoing and police are seeking the public’s assistance.
