2005 globalDESIGN Show Draws Record Attendance

The Jeweler’s Resource Bureau announced that globalDESIGN, the company’s international showcase of jewelry designers, drew a record number of buyers to its annual show in the Marriott hotel in Philadelphia, Feb. 18–20. Buyers chose from the work of 22 designers who displayed their work in a salon setting.

The globalDESIGN show was created in 2001 by Cindy Edelstein of the Jeweler’s Resource Bureau as a way to bring outstanding international talent to the attention of the gallery and store owners who come to Philadelphia in February for the fine-art jewelry and crafts on display then. Both the Philadelphia crafts show that is held concurrently with globalDESIGN and a Baltimore crafts show that follows emphasize American-made products.

The 22 designers who participated in globalDESIGN this year were Michael Zobel (Germany), Acacia Design (Turkey), Alex Sepkus (USA), Alishan (USA), Coomi Jewels (USA), Gellner (Germany), Gurhan (USA), Janis Kerman (Canada), Kent Raible (USA), Kubik (Germany), Linart (Israel), Majoral (Spain), Michael Sugarman (USA), Pascal Lacroix (USA), Pedro Boregaard (USA), Sakamoto (USA), Scott Keating (USA), Sevan Bicakci (Turkey), Brian Scholdt (USA), Ursula Scholz (Germany), Viewpoint Showrooms (USA), and Zoltan David (USA).
