CRJP Joins CIBJO

CIBJO, a founding member of the Council of Responsible Jewellery Practices, the group created to handle social and political issues in the supply chain, quit last year after CIBJO head Gaetano Cavalieri said what it was asking was achievable only by bigger companies.

But the two groups buried the hatchet during a press conference on June 4 at The JCK Show ~ Las Vegas. CRJP joined CIBJO as an associate member—but not the other way around. They agreed that CIBJO would focus on the industry’s quest to maintain consumer confidence from a broader perspective, while CRJP will focus on creation of a supply-chain initiative for the gold and diamond jewelry industry.
